Day 11

Today we went to a Memorial Day Service at the Foster Cemetery.

There was a color guard from Washburn Rural High School. A man played taps. The Cemetery Board President conducted the program and told a little about the cemetery. A local minister prayed and shared a few words. A young girl read two Memorial Day poems she had written.

A local television station put the event on the evening news.

There was a good attendance. This was the first time the cemetery had a Memorial Day Service.

It was a beautiful day and the refreshments were good too.
